Investigation into fatal collision continues

On Wednesday, July 19, 2023, Columbia Valley RCMP were called to Highway 93 in Kootney National Park where a tanker truck was fully engulphed in flames. Police and fire crews attended the scene and sadly, the driver, and adult man, was deceased at the scene.
Causal factors have yet to be determined, however police can confirm that there were no other vehicles involved. The investigation continues.
The highway was closed during the on-scene investigation but has since reopened to all traffic.
