File # 2023-74729

On December 21, 2023, at 4:22 a.m., Kelowna RCMP received a report of a break and enter to a business located in the 400 block of Bernard Ave, downtown Kelowna. Surveillance cameras captured two suspects involved, including one male breaking the glass and reaching into the store to grab items before fleeing on foot. Multiple police officers responded, locating the male who matched the description captured on surveillance.

The suspect was arrested for Break and Enter and was found still carrying a stolen item with store tags and security labels from the same business. The male was escorted to the Kelowna RCMP Detachment where he was processed before being released on an Undertaking with a court date scheduled for March 25, 2024 in Kelowna.

"As a result of this quick response by our frontline RCMP officers, this suspect was promptly arrested and the store’s property was returned," said Cst. Mike Della-Paolera, Media Relations Officer with the Kelowna RCMP. The second suspect was also located but released pending further investigation.

The investigation is still ongoing and Kelowna RCMP are urging anyone who may have witnessed the incident or that has dash camera recordings, to contact the Kelowna RCMP detachment at (250) 762-3300 and reference file 2023-74729.
