Police recover tools stolen in Vernon

In the middle of the night, an alert resident of an Easthill neighbourhood contacted police to report a suspicious man pushing a wheel barrow down a residential street. On Friday October 6th, 2023 at 1:15 am, frontline officers responded to the area quickly locating the individual and the wheel barrow in question.  To their surprise, the wheel barrow was overflowing with tools and other items. Believing the property to the stolen, police arrested the man and seized the property which include a canopy, a Craftsman air compressor, a Craftsman tool box and a wheelbarrow.

We would like to be able to return this property to their rightful owner said Corporal Tania Finn, Media Relations Officer with the Vernon North Okanagan RCMP. If you recognize these items as your property or had items stolen from your residence or vehicle overnight, let us know.

A 37-year old man is in custody and is faces numerous charges including possession of stolen property and fail to comply with a probation order.
