Possible drugs found:
During the afternoon of March 23rd, a local business located on the 300 block of City Centre, in Kitimat BC contacted the Kitimat RCMP to report a suspicious substance that had been found. An officer from the Kitimat RCMP detachment attended and located and seized the substance. It is believed to be an illicit drug product and will be destroyed accordingly. (2023-959)
Lost wallet:
A report of a lost wallet was received at the Kitimat RCMP front office on March 24th. It was reported the wallet was last seen while being used on Lahakas Blvd N, in Kitimat on March 23rd, but by the time the owner got home, the wallet was missing. If you’ve located a wallet, please contact the Kitimat RCMP. (2023-967)
Broken window:
A report of a broken window at a residence located on Saguenay St, Kitimat BC was reported to the Kitimat RCMP on March 24th. It was reported that the window was broken during the late-night hours of March 23rd. A canvas of the neighborhood was done to see if there were any CCTV cameras that would have caught the culprit(s). (2023-968)
False 911:
911 was called from a business located on the 500 block of Mountain View Square, Kitimat BC on March 24th. The person did stay on the line with 911 but hung up and did not answer any questions, resulting in a Kitimat RCMP member attending the business to ensure there was no emergency. It was confirmed there was no emergency. It is important to remember not to hang up if you accidently call 911. Stay on the line and speak with the operator. Hanging up or not answering questions will result in a police response. (2023-971)
24 hour driving prohibition:
The erratic manner in which a vehicle was being operated on the Kitamaat Village road during the evening of March 24th, resulted in the Kitimat RCMP being called. The vehicle was located and during the traffic stop, an investigation into impaired driving was started. It was found the driver had consumed liquor before driving. As a result, the driver received a 24-hour driving prohibition. (2023-973)
Found and returned wallet:
A wallet that been turned into the Kitimat RCMP detachment was returned to its owner on March 27th, very shortly after being turned in. The investigating officer was able to contact the owner using identification in the wallet. Unfortunately, this is not the wallet reported missing on March 24th, which is still outstanding.
