Santa had a little help from the New Hazelton RCMP delivering presents on Tuesday, December 20, 2022. A police vehicle doubled as a sleigh and horse power stood in for the reindeer, who are preparing for a very busy night in a few days.

The New Hazelton RCMP paraded around the community where children and adults stood along the route braving the extreme cold.

Christmas music played over the loud speaker and people were dancing and having a great time said Cpl Anthony Brooks, Acting Detachment Commander New Hazelton RCMP.

Santa handed out approximately 200 gifts to children in the 7 communities visited. Police also stopped at houses where children could be seen in the windows and Santa would make a visit at the front door.

The RCMP will be visiting the remaining 5 communities tonight, Wednesday, December 21, 2022. It was nice to come together with so many partners to make this event a success. Happy Holidays!
