Man charged in death of Tofino man in 2020

The Vancouver Island Integrated Major Crime Unit (VIIMCU) has arrested a 25-year-old man in connection to the 2020 death of a 47-year-old from Tofino, BC.

On December 30, 2020, the RCMP in Tofino attended a residence in the 1300 block of Chesterman Beach Rd in Tofino to check on the welfare of an adult man. See previous release here: VIIMCU investigates suspicious death of Tofino man.

On December 12, 2022, VIIMCU investigators, with the assistance of Nanaimo RCMP, were able to locate and arrest Luke Priddle in Nanaimo without incident. Luke Priddle appeared in court on December 13, 2022 and has been charged with 2nd degree murder, as well as Robbery and Theft of Motor Vehicle. Priddle remains in custody.
