Lillooet RCMP November 23 to December 6 2022, Calls for service: 85

Suspicious person

On November 23 at 7pm, a man reported that someone was flashing a red light laser into his hotel room from Downton Park. Police attended and located a man known to police at the park; he was also the only person in the area. The man denied using a red light laser, became belligerent with police before leaving the area.

Found property

On November 24, a man turned in a watch to the Lillooet RCMP he found while walking his dog near Main St. Owner may claim with detailed description within 90 days. Please reference Lillooet RCMP file 2022-2487.

Suspicious vehicle

On November 25 at 12pm, a complainant reported a suspicious red truck parked at the rear of the Lillooet curling rink. Police attended but did not locate anyone around the truck. Police spoke with the registered owner who confirmed he had run out of gas and was not sure where to park it. The man obtained gas and departed.

Intoxicated in public

On November 27 at 10pm, Lillooet RCMP attended a local gas station when a man entered inside the store and passed out on the floor. Police located the man dressed in business attire, who smelled of alcohol and marijuana. The man was arrested and transported to Lillooet cells to sober up, and was released the next morning.

Assist public

On November 30 at 5:30pm, Lillooet RCMP located a man apparently setting up a camp near the Miyazaki house. Police attempted to make contact with the man to inform him of the local shelter that was available, but the man replied F*** off, leave me alone, and quickly walked away. Police re-established contact with the man on Main St. The man confirmed he was alright, and appeared sober and dressed for the cold weather. Police offered to drive the man to the shelter but the man declined the offer.

Suspicious occurrence

On December 1 at 10pm, a man reported that he spoke with a male driver in a silver sedan frantically driving up and down Main St looking for his adult sister, who was heavily intoxicated and possibly stuck outside somewhere. The sister was described as wearing a heavy jacket and pyjama pants. With extremely limited information about who the male driver was, or who they were looking for, police stopped two silver sedans, but both drivers denied looking for an intoxicated sister. Police knocked on the door of a nearby well-known residence. The homeowner answered the door and police observed an intoxicated woman inside with matching clothing passed out in a chair. The homeowner was sitting with another woman watching a movie, and both denied knowing who the woman was, or how she got there. They said she arrived around 10pm; the same time police were dispatched. The homeowner asked police to remove the drunk woman. After leaving the residence, the woman was arrested for being intoxicated in public. She was able to provide police with the name of a family member that could care for her. Police transported her to her family’s house where a mother in-law agreed to watch over her while she sobered up. Police were never able to identify the male driver that was frantically looking for his sister.

Theft

On December 3, a man reported a theft of a 30lb propane tank from the Heights area of Lillooet. The man reported he found the propane tank cover on his trailer had been removed and realized one tank was missing. There were no witnesses, suspects or video surveillance in the area.

Road check

On December 3 at 8pm Lillooet RCMP conducted a road check on Main St near 8th Ave. Approximately 20 vehicles were check, with two warnings handed out for minor motor vehicle act infractions.
