File # 2022-8255

Five people were arrested and seven firearms seized in the execution of a search warrant.

On October 13, 2022, Quesnel RCMP conducted an investigation into firearms related offences. At approximately 2:00 p.m., the Quesnel RCMP executed a search warrant in the 600 block of Fir Street in Quesnel. The North District Emergency Response Team was utilized to assist with the execution of the warrant. Some of the occupants of the residence did not comply with police commands to exit the residence. Diversionary tactics were deployed and all subjects were safely taken into custody.

Seven firearms were located and three men and two women were taken into custody. Four of the people have been released pending further investigation. A 44-year-old man remains in custody awaiting a court appearance.

Some residents in the area reported the sounds of gun shots in the area. I can confirm that there were no shots fired during this incident, says Sgt. Clay Kronebusch. We would like to thank the North District Emergency Response Team for their assistance. We would also like to thank the public who were affected by not being able to access the area for their patience during this incident.
