Intoxicated male stabs himself

On September 28 at 3pm, BC Ambulance advised RCMP of a man on Hollywood Cres covered in blood. Police attended located a 33 year old man known to police with a puncture wound to his hand squirting blood. The man was highly intoxicated and unable to stand on his own. The man was unable to articulate what happened to his hand. He was transported to a local hospital where he obtained necessary medical attention. Once released he was arrested for being intoxicated in public and transported to cells to safely sober up. Once sober the man explained that he had accidentally stabbed himself in the hand with an exacto knife while reaching into a backpack. His girlfriend corroborated the story.

Scream heard

On October 1 at 1:30am, a complainant reported hearing a man screaming for over 30 minutes near McEwen Rd. Lillooet RCMP attended and after waiting a few minutes heard a man screaming intermittently in the distance. Police began a search on foot on a trail and located a 31 year old man sitting in the bushes. The man was uninjured, but was heavily intoxicated and repeating himself non-stop. Police transported the man to Lillooet cells to safely sober up and was released the next morning.

Mischief

On October 1 at 4:30am an employee at a local business reported arriving at work to find a window smashed, but no entry was gained. Police attended and observed video surveillance footage that showed the 31 year old man that was arrested earlier that night for being intoxicated in public, throwing a table at the window of the business. The man was arrested for mischief, and subsequently released on strict conditions and a future court date to speak to the allegations.

Extortion scam

On October 3, a man reported to Lillooet RCMP, he was being extorted. The man reported he had met a woman online through Facebook, leading up to them video chatting. The woman provoked the man into appearing nude on camera. After the video chat, the woman threatened to share the video with his friends and family if he did not send her money. The man then reported the incident to police, and that he had not sent the woman any money. At the time of the report, the woman had not yet shared the video with any friends or family. This is becoming a common romance scam to extort money out of victims. The man was advised to block the woman’s profile on Facebook, and avoid chatting with strangers online.
