Police investigate collision between pick-up truck and motorcycle

Vanderhoof RCMP is investigating a collision between a motorcycle and a pick-up truck where alcohol is believed to be a factor.

On Tuesday, July 26, 2022, just after 8:00 p.m., Frontline officers with the Vanderhoof RCMP detachment attended a collision involving a motorcycle and a pick-up truck on Mapes Road. During the course of the investigation, the driver of the pick-up truck was arrested as officers determined that his abilities to operate a motor vehicle were impaired by alcohol.

An RCMP Traffic Reconstructionist attended the scene to assist with a thorough investigation into the collision and the driver of the motorcycle was taken to hospital for serious but non-life threatening injuries.

Police are seeking dashcam video footage and are requesting anyone who may have witnessed the collision or the events prior that led to the collision, to contact the Vanderhoof RCMP detachment at 250-567-2222.
