Creston RCMP received 104 calls from July 12, 2022 to July 17, 2022. Creston RCMP would like to thank the public for assistance with locating the wanted person from the previous week.
July 12, 2022
- An officer located a man driving while prohibited in Kitchener. The man was issued a noticed to appear in court and the vehicle was impounded.
- An Officer located a suspicious vehicle and determined the driver need to be served a driving prohibition. The driver was served the notice and advised not to drive. A couple hours later the same officer found the man driving. The man was issued a court date for prohibited driving and his vehicle was impounded. The man later showed up at the detachment intoxicated and was unable to care for himself. The man lodged in cells and held until sober.
July 13, 2022
- Officers attended an assault and arrested the suspect.
July 14, 2022
- Officers removed an unwanted patron who was yelling and swearing at a local bank.
- An officer assisted Elk Valley RCMP in locating a missing person, who was found safe at their residence.
July 15, 2022
- An officer assisted an elderly man make arrangements for his groceries to be delivered.
- BC Highway Patrol Assisted Creston RCMP with a motor vehicle incident east of Creston.
- An officer located a downed power line that caused a fire. Fire attended to deal with the fire. Fortis attended to repair the power line.
- Officers located an intoxicated woman who was uncooperative and yelling. The woman was arrested and lodged in cells for the night.
- Officers attended disturbance where a dementia patient believed their partner just wanted to move harlots in their family home. The patient was taken to the hospital and was admitted.
- Officers attended a domestic assault. The suspect fled the area on foot before officers arrive and the investigation is on going.
July 16, 2022
- Officers attended the Creston Farmers Market where a man was threatening people and throwing rocks. Officers removed the man from the area.
- Officers attended Grey Creek for a report of a naked man at residence that appeared to be having a mental health crisis. Officers located the man hiding a garage and were able to get him into handcuffs while naked. The man claimed one officer was his father. The man also believed he was Nostradamus. Officers took the man to hospital to be evaluated. During transport the man was convinced the officers were filming an adult film because they always start with a man in handcuffs. The man was admitted to hospital and it was determined the man was a missing mental health patient out of a neighbouring detachment.
July 17, 2022
- Officers arrested a man on an outstanding warrant from Cranbrook RCMP. He was held for morning court.
- Officers assisted in getting an elderly woman home. The woman was confused due to her deteriorating mental health.
