Impaired by drugs-Collision in Okanagan Falls

On July 10th, 2022 at approximately 3:30 p.m., Penticton RCMP were dispatched to a motor vehicle collision at the intersection of Oliver Ranch Road at Weyerhauser Road, in Okanagan Falls, BC.

Evidence at the scene indicated the driver of a Ford Explorer, traveling east on Weyerhauser Rd, failed to stop at the stop sign, resulting in an on-coming Ford pick-up truck t-boning it. The passenger of the Ford Explorer suffered serious, non-life threatening injuries, while the other occupants of both vehicles were uninjured.

The 42-year-old male driver of the Ford Explorer was identified as a prohibited driver, and was found to be impaired by drugs. Charges of prohibited driving, impaired operation of motor vehicle causing bodily harm, along with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, are all being submitted to the BC Prosecution Service.
