The group of Crazy Indian Nomads confronted the man on Fraser St. on the morning of the 22nd, where they chased him down and began to assault him. One of the gang members can be seen in security footage, obtained by the Prince Rupert RCMP, as wielding a collapsible baton as a form of intimidation, as the others in the group punch and kick the man while he lay on the ground.

Another Crazy Indian Nomad is seen wearing "knuckle dusters", weighted gloves designed to protect the users hands from impact, and delivering several punches to the man while he attempts to defend himself.

Although the man declined to provide a statement and pursue charges, due to the nature of the incident the Prince Rupert RCMP forwarded charges against the Crazy Indian Nomad gang members and had the following approved by Crown Counsel:

"Ensuring the safety of our citizens is our number one priority," Media relations Cst. Brody Hemrich said. "The Prince Rupert RCMP is working diligently to combat illegal activities performed by groups such as the Crazy Indian Nomads in this instance."
