Lake Cowichan RCMP had a busy start to the summer this past weekend.
Between proactive enforcement and answering calls for service, frontline officers impounded 8 vehicles pursuant to Motor Vehicle Act violations, arrested 4 prohibited drivers and issued several Motor Vehicle Act violation tickets, including 2 for excessive speeding.With the increase in summer traffic expected at this time of year due to the campers, festival goers, and tubers, the Lake Cowichan RCMP is reminding everyone to slow down, be mindful of the wildlife, have your drivers licence and vehicle registration information on hand, and don’t drink and drive
, states Constable David Prak of the Lake Cowichan RCMP.
Officers will be out conducting traffic enforcement all summer long, removing unsafe drivers, and issuing violation tickets when appropriate.
