On Friday, June 3, 2022, at 7:03 p.m. frontline Trail and Greater District RCMP officers responded to report of an 86-year-old Trail man laying on the Columbia riverbank near Hillside Drive, in Trail, BC.

Officers believed that the man had attempted to harm himself by ingesting a household poison. Emergency Health Services transported the 86-year-old Trail man to the Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital. He is expected to recover from the incident.

On Friday, June 3, 2022, at 10:30 p.m. a frontline Trail and Greater District RCMP officer was on a routine patrol when he detained a black Volkswagen Tiguan for travelling faster than the posted legal speed limit on Schofield Highway, in Warfield, BC. The officer allegedly observed signs of impairment from the 37-year-old Calgary man while roadside and entered into an impaired driving investigation.

A demand was read to the man, who provided a sample of breath that resulted in a warn.
The 37-year-old Calgary man was issued a 3-day Immediate Roadside Prohibition (IRP) under section 215 of the BC Motor Vehicle Act and had his vehicle impounded for up to 3 days.

Trail RCMP will continue to prioritize the safety of our streets by taking impaired drivers off the road. – Sgt. Wicentowich
