The month of May is motorcycle awareness month. Please read our tips for being motorcycle aware as more motorcyclists hit the road this spring and summer.

Intoxicated in public
On May 4 at 10pm a man reported an intoxicated man sleeping on the sidewalk in the 1200 block of Main St. Police attended and located a 53 year old non-local man heavily intoxicated. The man was incoherent and staggering when he tried to stand. He was arrested and transported to Lillooet cells to safely sober up.

Consume in public
On May 6 at 12pm Lillooet RCMP conducted patrols of Downton Park and observed multiple beer cans on a picnic table with several people around. Police spoke with the park-users who also had paper cups filled with Old Milwaukee. All the open alcohol containers including paper cups were poured out. Everyone was polite with police and able to care for themselves. Police offered suggestions for programs for substance addiction, and also informed park users there was a presentation that day at the Rec centre about opiod addiction and assistance programs available.

Intoxicated in public
On May 6 at 3:30pm Lillooet RCMP conducted patrols of Downton Park and located one intoxicated man. The 53 year old man was arrested and transported to Lillooet cells to safely sober up.

Intoxicated in public
On May 6 ay 4pm Lillooet RCMP located an intoxicated man asleep on a bench in the 600 block of Main St. The 51 year old man was arrested and transported to Lillooet cells to safely sober up.

Intoxicated in public
On May 6 ay 4:15pm a woman reported an intoxicated man sleeping on the sidewalk in the 1200 block of Main St. Lillooet RCMP attended and located a heavily intoxicated 33 year old man. The man was arrested and transported to Lillooet cells to safely sober up.

Roadcheck
On May 6 at 5:30pm Lillooet RCMP conducted a roadcheck on Seton Lake Rd near Main St to check for valid driver’s licence, and driver fitness. Approximately 80 vehicles were checked, with lots of non-local travellers. Police located one driver that had no driver’s licence. The driver was issued a $276 Violation Ticket under section 24(1) of the Motor Vehicle Act, and the vehicle was towed off scene. The roadcheck was concluded at 6pm.

Theft
On May 6 at 6:30pm a man reported that an e-bike and compound bow had been stolen from his hunting camp in the Town Creek area. The e-bike is described as a dark grey Backcountry Storm 1000W e-bike with full suspension. The compound bow is described as a black PSE Carbon Air bow. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact Lillooet RCMP, please reference Lillooet RCMP file 2022-868.

Missing person
On May 6 at 11pm a woman reported that her partner had not returned home from cattle ranching after they got separated around 2pm earlier that day. The woman stated they were 7km down a forest service road off West Pavilion Rd when her partner went back to get their ATV. The woman waited two hours but the man never came back. The woman walked back and the ATV was gone. The woman departed in the truck they had driven there. Lillooet RCMP engaged Pemberton search and rescue who stated they would be unable to attend until daylight. On May 7 at 6am the woman reported her partner had returned home. Police learned after getting the ATV he took a different trail and got stuck. Unable to get the ATV up the hill he had gone down, he ended up having to walk home 25km in the dark.
