The Merritt RCMP meow want to remind the public to properly plan meow their road trips meow so they don't become fatigued while driving meow.

On Friday May 6, 2022, Merritt RCMP Front Line Officers attended a single vehicle collision on the Coquihalla Highway where the driver had fallen asleep and gone off road right, rolling their vehicle multiple times. Fortunately the driver only suffered minor injuries and was transported to Nicola Valley Hospital as a precaution. Inside the vehicle officers located a brave little kitten and transported her back to Merritt. An officer came into work on her day off, took the kitten to a local vet and had her assessed with only minor bruising. The kitten was then reunited with her owner.   

"Merritt RCMP one, Merritt Fire Department zero meow", says Cst. Rainier Penner. "We want to remind the public that when travelling on our highways to have a plan and make sure you are well rested before driving".
