In the early morning of March 15, an officer observed a pickup truck driving unsafely and was able to locate it shortly after, parked in a driveway. The man driving the pickup attempted to get out of the truck while it was still in drive, and it began to roll. The officer activated emergency lights to engage a traffic stop and the man got back into the truck, putting it into park. The man’s ID was confirmed and he was found to be a prohibited driver. The officer arrested him for this offence and subsequently located suspected drugs both in his possession and in the vehicle. The man’s vehicle was impounded for 7 days and he was released from police custody. Police are continuing to investigate.

On March 15, 2022, nine new warrants were issued for individuals who failed to attend court as directed, each on unrelated matters. No new charges were approved for failing to appear. Police will make attempts to locate and execute these warrants.

On March 16, 2022, A woman reported a fraudulent phone call. A suspicious caller was posing to be from a reputable phone company and offered the woman a large discount on residential phone services. Police are reminding the public to be cautious of fraud scams, particularly at tax time and never provide personal information over the phone to an unknown caller.
