Leave the Phones Alone

2022-03-04 15:41 PST

March is Distracted Driving Awareness month. ICBC and police around the province are reminding drivers to leave their phones alone.

Distracted driving continues to be a leading contributing factor in fatal car crashes with more than a quarter of all car crash fatalities in BC involving driver distraction.

Police across BC are amping up distracted driving enforcement. The fine for using an electronic device while driving starts at $368 and 4 demerit points for the first offence, increasing with subsequent offences.
