West Kelowna – A West Kelowna man who was wanted on outstanding arrest warrants has been taken into custody.
On August 24, 2021, Michael Collins was released on significant conditions on his outstanding charges.
On August 25, 2021 West Kelowna RCMP was notified that Michael Collins was not abiding by the conditions of his release. Numerous efforts to arrest Collins were unsuccessful.
The file was submitted to the BC Prosecution Service who approved charges of flight from police, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and driving while prohibited, and issued a warrant for the arrest of 43-year-old Michael Collins.
On Sept. 1, 2021, West Kelowna RCMP located Collins in a residence in West Kelowna. He was arrested with assistance from the RCMP Southeast District Emergency Response Team.
Michael Collins has been held in custody.
No further information is being released at this time.
