The Terrace RCMP responded to approximately 204 calls from Monday, December 14, to midnight on Sunday, December 20. Of those calls approximately 100 occurred between Friday the 18 and Sunday the 20. Below are some highlights from calls for service received:

On the morning of Tuesday, December 15, 2020, the Terrace RCMP were conducting RADAR enforcement near the Ferry Island Campground on Highway 16 east of Terrace B.C. A vehicle was observed travelling eastbound at a high rate of speed, travelling over 90 km/hr in a posted 50 km/hr zone. Police conducted a roadside stop with the vehicle where it was then discovered that the male driver was also prohibited from driving. The vehicle was towed and impounded for 7 days and the driver was served a violation ticket for Drive without Due Care ($368). A Promise to Appear was then served to the driver to attend court.

On the early morning of Friday, December 18, 2020 Terrace RCMP responded to a check well-being request from the public at the Husky on Lakelse Ave. Police attended and located a youth who advised members that they had been feeling suicidal and were unable to calm themselves down. Members spoke with the youth at length to obtain an understanding of the situation. The youth was apprehended under the Mental Health Act without incident. Police transported the youth to hospital where they were subsequently assessed by a Doctor who deemed they were now safe and able to care for themselves. Police transported the youth to their home and left them in the care of their guardian.

On the evening of Friday, December 18, 2020 Terrace RCMP were on routine patrol when they observed a vehicle driving in an erratic manner and fail to stop at a stop sign. Concerned for public and driver safety, members conducted a traffic stop with the vehicle. A strong odour of liquor permeated from within. Suspecting the lone-occupant female driver may be impaired, a member administered a roadside test which resulted in a FAIL. A second test was conducted which also resulted in a FAIL. The driver was issued a 90-Day driving Prohibition. The vehicle was towed to be impounded for 30 days. Members provided the driver safe transportation to her residence.
