Police respond to 207 calls from November 23 to November 29

The Terrace RCMP responded to approximately 207 calls from Monday November 23, to midnight on Sunday November 29. Of those calls approximately 89 occurred between Friday the 27 and Sunday the 29. Below are some highlights from calls for service received.

On the afternoon of Monday, November 23, 2020, Terrace RCMP were notified by an out of town homeowner there were possibly squatters living in his seasonal property. Members attended and located an adult male and female unlawfully within. The occupants attempted to flee on foot from Police and after a short foot pursuit, both were arrested. Members searched the residence and located insecure firearms and ammunition which were then seized. The male was arrested for Break and Enter, Breach of Undertaking x 3, Resisting Arrest and Careless use of a Firearm and the female was arrested for Break and Enter, Breach of undertaking x 3 and Careless use of a Firearm. Both were transported to Terrace Detachment to be held for court.  

On the evening of Tuesday, November 24, 2020 Terrace RCMP received a report of a domestic assault. The male victim advised he had been punched several times and bitten by his partner. Members attended and located the victim who had sustained injuries to his hand. The male was transported to hospital. A woman was arrested for Assault and transported to Terrace RCMP Detachment later released on no-contact conditions with the victim.

On the evening of Saturday, November 28, 2020 Terrace RCMP responded to a report of a possibly impaired driver who the witness reported was in possession of a weapon. Members attended and located the male driver unconscious in the driver’s seat of the running vehicle. The man did not possess a valid drivers licence and was prohibited from driving. The driver was arrested and evaluated by a Drug Recognition Expert. A search of the vehicle was conducted by members where a significant amount of illicit drugs, stolen property and several weapons were located and seized by Police. The male was arrested for Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Prohibited Driving, Possession of Weapons for a Dangerous Purpose and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime and later released by a Police Undertaking once sober.

The Terrace RCMP are requesting assistance in locating a wanted person. Wanted on Terrace files: 2020-3619 Devon Cote failed to attend court for charges of Driving while Prohibited. COTE is in his early-30’s and is described to be a Caucasian male with brown hair and brown eyes. He is described to be approximately 5’8 and 260lbs. If located, contact the RCMP or the police of jurisdiction in your area. Do not confront the wanted. 

The Terrace RCMP are requesting assistance in locating a wanted person. Wanted on Terrace file: 2020-7337, Kyle Thomas HOWDEN failed to attend court for charges of Obstruction of a Peace Officer and Drive While Prohibited. HOWDEN is described as mid-30’s, 6’1 and approximately 175lbs, brown hair and green eyes. If located, contact the RCMP or the police of jurisdiction in your area. Do not confront the wanted.

The Terrace RCMP are requesting assistance in locating a wanted person. Wanted on Terrace files: 2019-10184 and 2019-7711, Chelsea Irene WESLEY has failed to attend court for charges of Possession of Stolen Property, Resist Arrest and Possession of a Controlled Substance. WESLEY is 22 years old. She is described to be Indigenous, 5’2, approximately 89lbs with brown hair and brown eyes. If located, contact the RCMP or the police of jurisdiction in your area. Do not confront the wanted.
