Collision involving pedestrian

On August 8, 2022 at 6:54 p.m., Surrey RCMP responded to a report of a serious motor vehicle collision at 76 Avenue near 151A Street.

A pedestrian who stepped off to cross the street was struck by a vehicle heading west bound on 76 Avenue. The elderly pedestrian was transported to local area hospital in serious condition with life-threatening injuries. She remains in hospital.

The driver of the vehicle remained on scene and is cooperating with the investigation. The investigation is ongoing as investigators gather traffic camera footage and witness accounts. If you were in the area and have information, please contact Surrey RCMP.

76th Avenue between 151A Street and 152 Street will be closed for several hours.
