Three men are facing robbery with a firearm charges as part of an ongoing investigation into a McGill Road shooting Friday morning.

Around 7:41 a.m. on Sept. 16, 2022, multiple frontline officers responded to the 700-block of McGill Road for a report of shots fired and a firearm observed. Shortly after, police located and arrested five people believed to be involved in the incident at various locations. As the investigation progressed, two were identified as victims and released.

This investigation involved a high-risk situation and multiple suspects at a time of day when there was an abundance of people on their way to school and work, said Inspector Jeff Pelley, Kamloops RCMP. Thanks to the fast response of multiple police units throughout the city and the assistance of the community in providing updates on the suspects’ locations, officers were able to make quick arrests and advance the investigation, leading to charge approvals and court appearances scheduled for today.

A frontline police presence was obvious in Sahali for much of Friday as officers collected evidence and investigated with support from multiple Kamloops RCMP units including the Police Dog Service, Forensic Identification Service, General Investigation Support Team, Serious Crime, Targeted Enforcement, and the Integrated Road Safety Unit – which located and arrested one of the suspects.
As part of the investigation, officers located evidence to support a firearm was discharged during what is believed to be a targeted incident, added Insp. Pelley. Thankfully no one was injured as a result of this very public and dangerous occurrence. Investigations surrounding individuals who use violence and firearms continue to be a high strategic priority for the Kamloops RCMP.

Alexander James Zeballos, 32, of Anaconda; Kaleb Lawrence Conroy, 19, of Maple Ridge; and Dylan Glaser, 20, of Smithers are each charged with robbery with a firearm.

Anyone who has dash cam video, surveillance footage, or information related to this investigation is asked to please contact the Kamloops RCMP Detachment at 250-828-3000 and reference file 2022-33033.
