Police investigate sexual assault

The West Shore RCMP is currently investigating a report of a sexual assault that took place on September 6th at View Royal Park located at 60 Pheasant Lane, View Royal.

The sexual assault took place sometime between the hours of midnight and 2:00 a.m. Police learned a young female between the ages of 14-16 years old was alone in the park and was approached by a male suspect who proceeded to sexually assault her. The victim did sustain minor physical injuries and will recover.

Police are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the male suspect.

Suspect description:

This investigation is in its preliminary stages. Police have received no similar reports and this appears to be an isolated crime. We would like to remind the public to take precautions when traveling alone at night. It is a good idea to travel in a group, or let a friend or loved one know where you are going to be and what time to expect you home, said Cpl. Nancy Saggar, Media Relations Officer West Shore RCMP.
